Q: How far in advance should I book my shoot?
A: The sooner the better! We suggest you book at least a week in advance, although we always attempt to accommodate last-minute requests. That said, we book fast, so 4 weeks is ideal to secure your perfect time.
Q: How do I book a session?
A: After requesting a quote, our team will work with you to find the perfect time and location for your photoshoot. Once confirmed, we require a 50% deposit to secure your session. The remaining 50% is due before final image delivery.
Q: What happens if I need to reschedule?
A: We will accommodate 1 reschedule up to 3 days before a confirmed shoot date. Just send us an email and we'll find a time that works for everyone.
Q: What if I need to cancel?
More than 48 hours - 50% of your deposit will be refunded.
Less than 48 hours - no refund will be issued. Our photographers are freelance and rely on a sound schedule to keep their income stable.
Q: What if I am running late?
A: Text or email your photographer if you are delayed. If you arrive late, keep in mind your photographer will often have another shoot booked right after and might not be available to run over (although it never hurts to ask). We suggest arriving to your location early and grabbing a coffee nearby so you don't begin your shoot feeling rushed. Remember: the NYC subway system can be unpredictable!
If you arrive late for your session, any time that has passed from your original start time will be forfeited, and you may shoot for the remainder of the time you have booked.
If the photographer is available and you wish to extend beyond the time of your scheduled session, extra time is charged at a rate of $100 per 30 mins.
Q: What happens if it’s raining?
A: Shooting in the rain looks awesome, so bring your umbrella! That said, if it's truly raining cats and dogs and not ideal circumstances to shoot in, your photographer will work with you directly to reschedule the shoot.
Q: How many people can book a shoot together?
A: All packages include groups up to 4. Additional members are welcome at an additional charge of $50/person..
Q: When will I see the photos?
A: We will send you a link to your personal online gallery of unedited photos within 2 weeks, depending on how busy the season is. After your image selection is made, our in-house retouchers will retouch your images for color, contrast, sharpness, and cropping, aka, the Hungry Hearts NYC Treatment.
Q: What format will I receive my photos in?
A: Photos will be delivered in standard JPEG format. Please note that to protect the work of our photographers, under no circumstances, are we able to provide RAW format files.
Q: Can I order prints and albums?
A: Of course! We have a great relationship with a local print-house that can drop-ship your goods to anywhere in the world at affordable pricing.
Q: Do I own the photos?
A: You have the rights to use the photos for personal use (not commercial). Our photographers retain the creative copyright.
Q: How many photographs do I get from my session?
A: Each session includes 4 edited images each retouched with the Hungry Hearts Treatment (color, sharpness, exposure, cropping). Additional photographs are available at $50/image and include retouching.
Q: Can I buy all of the shots that the photographer took?
A: Photographs over our standard 4-image package are available at $50/image.
Q: What kind of photo editing is included in my package?
A: The Hungry Hearts Treatment includes our signature color, sharpness, exposure, and a perfect crop.
Q: What if I want cosmetic retouching?
A: We can do that! Our retouchers work professionally within the fashion and editorial industry and are happy to retouch out blemishes, pimples, logos, stray hairs, and whatever else bugs you for an additional fee. Drop us a line with your retouching requests for a quote.
